Welcome to Bourdain's dream, the food side of Long Life Locals, and an Instagram page (@bourdainsdream) where I, a Brazilian happiness researcher, traveler, and food adventurer, embark on a journey to meet incredible individuals and explore the world through its diverse cuisines.
Inspired by the late Anthony Bourdain's vision, Bourdain's Dream is more than just a culinary adventure – it's a celebration of cultural exchange, connection, and the universal language of food.
Anthony Bourdain once famously said, "If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food. It’s a plus for everybody." These words resonate deeply with me, as they encapsulate the essence of what I believe in and strive to achieve through Bourdain's Dream.
Since I can remember, I have always had a passion for exploring new places, immersing myself in different cultures, and, of course, indulging in delicious food. Bourdain's dream of moving, of experiencing life to the fullest, is something that I have embraced wholeheartedly. It's about more than just satisfying my taste buds – it's about forging connections with people from all walks of life, understanding their stories, and appreciating the beauty of diversity.
Long Life Locals is my way of keeping Bourdain's dream alive. With each post, I aim to not only showcase the incredible dishes I encounter but also to shine a spotlight on the individuals behind them – the local chefs, artisans, and food enthusiasts who pour their hearts and souls into their craft. Through their food, I hope to convey the richness of their culture, the warmth of their hospitality, and the depth of their humanity.
So, join me on this culinary journey as we explore the world, one bite at a time.
Bom apetite! As they say in my home country of Brazil, may your meal be delicious and your connections with others be meaningful. Let's keep Bourdain's dream alive – one meal, one conversation, and one adventure at a time.
